Using Subversion (SVN)
Textpattern is developed under Subversion (SVN). Subversion is a wonderful versioning system (quickly supplanting CVS) that makes it easy for development, graphics, and writing teams to collaborate while ensuring their work is saved and managable at every step. Aside from the regular Textpattern ZIP download, you can also install Textpattern using one of the following subversion methods, therefore taking advantage of the benefits subversion provides.
For All Web Hosts and/or Local Development
- Subversion Installation for Windows via TortoiseSVN
- Subversion Installation for Windows via wget (Not recommended by Textpattern developers! See FAQ How do I fetch the current development version?)
- Subversion Installation for Macintosh
- Subversion Installation for Linux
For TextDrive Only
- Subversion Installation at TextDrive via Webmin
- Subversion Installation at TextDrive via Secure Shell
- SVN Installation at TxD via SSH for Dev Testing
Using Open-source Apache Packages for Local Development
- Using XAMPP (Apache-MySQL-PHP-Perl) for Windows
- Using MAMP (Macintosh-Apache-MySQL-PHP) for Macintosh
