Help:Page Status Flags

From Textpattern CMS User Documentation

Collaborative page flags are not uncommon in wiki communities, and for good reason; they help keep readers/users aware of where they are and/or the status of page content. Following are the notices we have adopted so far and the ideals for using them. Please add these flags whenever you find them relevant to do so. All Flag tags always go to the very top of page code.

Contents

In-Progress Flag

The Work-in-Progress notice is used to indicate when a page is in the middle of being drafted or edited.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS! Throw rocks if it gets quiet.

Use
Authors copy tag: {{Work in progress}}
Admins edit at: template:Work in progress

Help Flag

The Help flag is intended for when you want to draft/edit a page but are not sure where it might fit into the wiki or are not sure if what you write is clear. Add the help flag and someone will come by to lend a hand. It also helps, in this case, to give a shout in the TextBook forum so someone is aware of the need.

Dear Editor(s),
I have started this page but don't know how to batten it down.
Help!

Use
Authors copy tag: {{Help}}
Admins edit at: template:Help

The Help flag could become obsolete if we adopted an extension like DocumentApproval.

Warning Flag

The Warning flag is used to indicate page content is questionable or outdated. When someones sees this notice, they should try and find out why the warning exists and update the page so it can be removed. Ideally this flag would never be needed as people would simply take the extra time and fix what they see wrong, but it's understood time is sometimes short or whatever so this gets things half way there.

WARNING! This content is unsupported and likely incorrect. Use at you're own risk!

Use
Authors copy tag: {{Warning}}
Admins edit at: template:Warning

Stop Flag

The Stop notice is used to indicate when a page is terminated -- should no longer be contributed to. These pages should also get the [[category:Wiki Trash]] tag placed at bottom of page so they can be reviewed to salvage iformation and then deletion. Note: Only Sysops can delete pages.

Deprecated page! Page will be kept until content is recycled, then terminated.

Use
Authors copy tag: {{Stop}}
Admins edit at: template:Stop

Project Flag

The project flag is used to help make it immediately clear to readers the page is not a part of the Textpattern documentation proper, but rather associated to community workgroup, plugin development, Txp development, or anything else not specifically end-user documentation.

This is a Community Projects page, not actual end-user documentation, just so you know.

Use
Authors copy tag: {{Projects}}
