Textpattern CMS User Documentation:About
From Textpattern CMS User Documentation
The user documentation wiki was founded in 2004 by Destry Wion, Mark Norton and Dean Allen. Since then it has grown slow but sure, and is now the beacon for free, self-help learning about Textpattern.
The wiki's admirable aim is to make it unnecessary to need anything else, and your help is welcome to make that aim true. A good place to start is help:New Accounts, or make your ideas known in the User Docs forum.

Engine and Version
The wiki is powered by MediaWiki, of course. See current version details.
Caretakers
The textpattern.net domain is owned By Dean Allen (according to who.is) and hosted by Joyent. Robert Wetzlmayr (principle developer for Textpattern) coordinates server-side communication between Textpattern and Joyent.
A number of people are currently serving as wiki admins. They are: Destry Wion, Patrick Woods, Stef Dawson, and Els Lepelaars.
Internationalization
A wiki is the right tool for collaborative documentation development in large communities. A significant aspect of using MediaWiki, specifically, is we can synchronize translation efforts between English (the default language) and other supported languages. Great efforts have been made already, but there's a long way to go.
We strongly encourage community members to take active participation in translating content so that using Textpattern is easy for people everywhere. If you would like to lend a hand in translation efforts, see the Translations help information to get started.
Thanks
To all those in the Textpattern community who have contributed to the wiki in any way.
